Congratulations Aaron Moretzsky!

On Sunday, October 4, about 30 family and friends gathered at Canyon Oaks care facility in Canoga Park, CA, to honor Aaron Moretzsky for his incredible efforts for Team Parkinson.  Over the past few years Aaron has raised $130,000 for Parkinson’s disease research through his tireless dedication and steadfast fundraising work. It was quite evident on Sunday how Aaron does it as the room filled with so many people who love him and support his fight for a cure. Along with wife Harriet and daughter Mindi, her husband Steve, and grandchildren Sara and Sean, there were other relatives and many old friends. There were also some special guests representing Team Parkinson. Carol Walton was in town from New Jersey for this special occasion, and she, along with John and Edna Ball, presented Aaron with a special plaque recognizing his significant contribution. Mary Yost, one of the founders of Team Parkinson was on hand and had composed a wonderful song (see lyrics below) that the whole crowd sang, much to Aaron’s delight. And May May Ali was on hand to lend her special spirit, as only she can. The highlight of the day was the honor Aaron received in presenting Dr. Jeff Bronstein, Aaron's personal doctor as well as a Parkinson's researcher at UCLA, with a $50,000 check for PD research. Dr. Bronstein then spoke about how the money will be used in important studies to further advance the march toward a cure. Everyone was very moved by his words and commitment to find a cure. All in all it was a very special day for a special man! Thank you Aaron for all you do for Team Parkinson.
