War Torn – My World in Conflict by John Ball - 03/07/2012

Vietnam veteran John Ball’s memoir recalls his life and depicts the Vietnam War from the perspective of a naval officer whose principles were put to the test.

John Ball’s road to self-discovery took a dangerous turn when he was recruited to serve in a top secret squadron in Thailand during the Vietnam War.  In his memoir, War Torn, John recalls his time as a young naval officer and pilot, when he chose to create his own path in light of the social and political challenges facing America in the 1960s.

John reflects on his decisions and their ultimate consequences, including his diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease at age 39.
